Minnesotans urged to check for flood insurance
The state Department of Commerce is warning Minnesotans to review whether they might need flood insurance as winter heads toward spring. The agency points out that flood damage is not covered under a standard homeowner’s insurance policy.
Warming temperatures along with heavy snowfall totals in February and early March make flooding a strong possibility in many parts of the state.
